MIDAS Launches Tutorial Series on Sustainable and Circular Business Models for Bio-Based Value Chains 

MIDAS partners Centre for Renewable Energy Sources Greece and the Agricultural University of Athens are launching a series of 10 video tutorials on sustainable and circular business models for bio-based value chains. The tutorials are designed for students, practitioners, and anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of this field. 

The series will cover a wide range of topics, including: 

  • The process of preparing a business plan 
  • Examples of bioeconomy business models 
  • Heavy metals in European soils and phytoremediation – a sustainable remediation approach 
  • Salinity – A major agricultural problem: Causes, impacts & management 
  • Which industrial crops to grow on marginal lands? 
  • Important bast fibre crops 
  • The importance of oilseed crops 
  • Important perennial crops for marginal lands 
  • Woody crops for marginal lands 

The first tutorial, An Introduction to Circular Bioeconomy, is now available. It provides an overview of the key concepts and principles of the circular bioeconomy, setting the stage for the rest of the series. 

Stay tuned for the second tutorial, “The Process of Preparing a Business Plan,” which will be released on July 1st. This tutorial will delve into the practical steps involved in developing a successful business plan for bio-based ventures.
