Expert workshop on Environmental Sustainability of Crops for Bio-based Industries in Europe 

This year the EUBCE will host a dedicated expert workshop on Environmental sustainability of agricultural crops for bio-based industries in Europe. 

The workshop is organized by ETA Florence with the support of Horizon Europe projects MIDAS and MarginUp, and it will be co-chaired by ETA Florence and by the European Commission, Unit ‘Green transitions’ of the Directorate General Research & Innovation, Directorate Healthy Planet. 

A panel of experts from bio-based industries and research centres will discuss the best practices providing environmentally sustainable biomass from agricultural crops, for bio-based chemicals, materials and products. 

The main aim of the workshop is to contribute to, understanding the environmental impacts related to the supply of EU primary agricultural crops for industrial bio-based applications and collecting best practices of biomass provision ensuring the environmental sustainability of industrial bio-based systems. The event will be open to all EUBCE participants and will include discussions with the audience.
